The Preceptory of Croydon was Consecrated on 11th May 1912, which means that this year they celebrate their centenary. Their nearest meeting date to this will be 11th June and to celebrate the special occasion there will be a full team official visit by the Provincial Prior and, other commitments will permitting, a full turn out of the active Provincial Officers.

This is a very special occasion which doesn't come along in a Province very often. The last one, and the first in this Province, was Temple Court Preceptory way back in 1994. The next will be Kyngstun Preceptory, but this won't happen for another eleven years.

So what happens at such an event? There will be a special oration prepared and given by Surrey's Past Provincial Prior, R.E.Kt. Bryan Page. The reading and presentation of the Centenary Warrant and a brief history of the Preceptory. There will be some special ceremonial for the occasion and the presentation of the Centenary Jewels for the members of the Preceptory. All this followed by a grand festival meal.

It is hoped that this will be a very special occasion both for the members of the Preceptory of Croydon and their visitors. If you would like to be part of the celebration please, in the first place, contact the Provincial Vice-Chancellor: vc@surreyknights.org.

We look forward to sharing your company there.
