Provincial Priory of Malta Meeting

In September the Provincial Priory of Malta meeting was once again held under the Banner of Emmaus Preceptory No 446. The afternoon began with a meeting of Emmaus Preceptory. The Eminent Preceptor this year was E.Kt. John Baker, PGtA-de-C, PProv2nd Con. E.Kt. Timothy Ford, ProvDepMar, a Past Preceptor of Agincourt Preceptory No. 517 and Croydon Preceptory No. 196 was balloted for as a Joining Member. E.Kt. Tim was proposed by V.E.Kt Patrick Crossan and seconded by E.Kt. Chris Eley.


The Preceptory was then closed and a Priory of Knights of Malta was opened. The Provincial Mareschal, Em.Kt. Chris Eley, entered and advised the Eminent Prior that the Rt.Em.Kt. Michael J Banbury, Provincial Prior of Surrey along with a number of Provincial Officers of the year was in the ante-room and demanded admission to the Priory. The Provincial Prior of Surrey entered and was greeted by the Eminent Prior.

Kts. Kevin McSorley of Agincourt Preceptory No 517 and Andrew Bryce of Whyte Stone Preceptory No. 447 were then admitted members of the Order by the Eminent Prior and his Officers.

Following the ceremony, a Chapter of the Provincial Priory of Surrey was opened and the Provincial Malta Officers of the year 2014 – 2015 were appointed and invested by the Provincial Prior.

The Provincial Prior then declared that the Provincial Priory of Surrey meeting in the Order of Malta is closed. The R.E.Provincial Prior and the Officers of the Year retired in procession under the direction of the Provincial Marshal.
