Provincial Priory of Malta Meeting

In September the Provincial Priory of Malta meeting was held under the Banner of Emmaus Preceptory No 446.

The afternoon began with a meeting of Emmaus Preceptory. The Eminent Preceptor this year was E.Kt. J Jones, PGtChamb, PProv1stC. E.Kt. Jim Thompson and E.Kt. Ron Brick were elected Eminent Preceptor and Treasurer for the ensuing year.

The Preceptory was then closed and a Priory of Knights of Malta was opened by VE.Kt. Chris Cradock, Provincial Sub Prior The Provincial Mareschal, Em.Kt. Chris Eley, entered and advised the Eminent Prior that RE.Kt. Patrick P Crossan, Provincial Prior of Surrey, along with a number of Provincial Officers of the year was in the ante-room and demanded admission to the Priory. The Provincial Prior of Surrey entered and was greeted by the Eminent Prior.

VE.Kt. Chris Cradock, Provincial Sub Prior, conducted the Ceremony of installation and Knights. Gary Winder, Robert Ahmadi and Gener Gines were admitted members of the Order by the Eminent Sub Prior and the Officers of Emmaus Priory, ably assisted with the banners by the members of the Provincial Prior’s Bodyguard.

Following the ceremony, a Chapter of the Provincial Priory of Surrey was opened and the Provincial Malta Officers of the year 2016 – 2017 were appointed and invested by the Provincial Prior. The Provincial Prior then declared that the Provincial Priory of Surrey meeting in the Order of Malta is closed.

The RE. Provincial Prior and the Officers of the Year retired in procession under the direction of the Provincial Marshal.

Presnt at the meeting were 3 Right Eminent Knights. RE.Kt. Patrick P Crossan, Provincial Prior; RE.Kt. Bryan F Page, KCT, Past Provincial Prior and RE.Kt.. Michael J Banbury, Past Provincial Prior.

Afterwards the Knights of Emmaus Preceptory and their guests dined together at the Surbiton Masonic Hall.
