Installation Meeting of Emmaus Preceptory Preceptory
In April, Emmaus Preceptory No. 446 held their Installation meeting at Surbiton Masonic Hall.

E.Kt. Jim Thompson, the Eminent Preceptor, opened the meeting of Emmaus Preceptory and welcomed our guests, who included the Provincial Prior of Surrey, RE.Kt. John Roberts.

The first item on the agenda was to ballot for five joining members of the Preceptory. This proved in their favour and the Knights present were received into the Preceptory by the Eminent Preceptor.

E.Kt. Jim Thompson then installed the Preceptor Elect, E.Kt. Michael Spicer into the Chair of the Preceptory.

The Eminent Preceptor gave a most interesting and informative talk on ‘Seals and Freemasonry’ looking at Freemasonry in England before the coming together of the two Grand Lodges, with particular reference to the Seal of United Grand Lodge.

The Preceptory was then closed and a Priory of Knights of Malta was opened by E.Kt. Jim Thompson, the Eminent Prior, who then installed the Prior Elect, E.Kt. Michael Spicer into the Chair of the Priory.

The Malta Officers of the year 2018 – 2019 were appointed and invested by the Eminent Prior. The Emmaus Priory was then closed.

Pictured here with the new Eminent Preceptor, E.Kt. Michael Spicer, are the joining Knights, E.Kts. Brian Shiers, Paul Kerswell, Angus Rhodes, Barry Horne and Jack Love.
