The Re-Dedication of the Sacryham Preceptory Bible
On Monday the 19th November 2018 at the Croydon Masonic Hall the Provincial Sub Prior of Surrey, and the Provincial Prelate of Surrey re-dedicated the Sacryham Preceptory Bible.

The Re-Dedication of the Sacryham Preceptory Bible

At 3 pm the Dedicating Team arrived to rehearse the ceremony, assisted by members of the Preceptory and members of the Provincial Prior’s Bodyguard. The Preceptory was opened at 5pm.

The Provincial Marshal, E.Kt. Chris Eley, entered and advised the Eminent Preceptor, E.Kt. Glyn Harvey, that VE.Kt. Chris Cradock, Provincial Sub Prior of Surrey, along with a number of Provincial Officers of the year, was in the ante-room and demanded admission to the Preceptory. The Provincial Sub Prior of Surrey entered and was greeted by the Eminent Preceptor. The Provincial Sub Prior was then saluted with 5 after which the Eminent Preceptor took the muster roll and the minutes.

The Dedicating Officer, V.Em.Kt. Christopher Cradock, was offered the Baton by the Eminent Preceptor, which he accepted and assumed the Chair. The Eminent Preceptor, E.KT. Glyn Harvey, was escorted to the Organ by the Provincial Marshal. The Dedicating Officer spoke briefly on the purpose of the occasion and invited E.Kt. Len Moreton and E.Kt. Chris Eley to assist him as Chaplain and Marshal in the Dedication Ceremony.

The current Altar Bible was be taken from the Altar and placed in the care of the Preceptory Chaplain. The Provincial Marshal formed an Escort of five Knights of the Preceptory to conduct the Bible into the Preceptory, during which a Hymn was sung. The Dedicating Officer called upon the Chaplain for prayer, following which the Chaplain gave an Oration.

The Bible was then paraded around the Preceptory during which a Hymn was sung. The Bible was then advanced and the Chaplain delivered the Prayer of Dedication. The Provincial Marshal escorted the Eminent Preceptor from the Organ to the Dedicating Officer who invited the Eminent Preceptor to receive the Bible on behalf of the Preceptory.

The Dedicating Officer delivered the Bible which has been re-dedicated to the service of the Sacryham Preceptory into the care of the Eminent Preceptor and the Chaplain gave the Patriarchal Benediction, following which he took the Bible from the Cushion Bearer and placed it on the altar.

Under the direction of the Provincial Marshal the Knights of Sacryham Preceptory formed up in the north east and proceeded round the the Preceptory saluting the Bible with their lips. The Brother Knights were then called to order to salute the Bible with three.

The Dedicating Officer requested the Eminent Preceptor to resume the Chair of the Preceptory. The Eminent Preceptor expressed on behalf of the Knights present their appreciation for the Re-Dedication Ceremony carried out by the Dedicating Officers and the Assisting Officers. The next agenda item was to elect the Preceptor and the Treasurer for the ensuing year. Kt. Graham McGlashen and E. Kt. Andy Fox, being the only members nominated for the respective Offices, the Eminent Preceptor declared the elections in favour of these Knights.

The Knights of Sacryham Preceptory and their guests afterwards dined together in fraternal union.
