An Executive visit to Croydon Preceptory
In March, Croydon Preceptory No 198 were pleased to receive the Provincial Chancellor of Surrey, VE. Knight Christopher D Cradock. Also present was E.Kt. Chris Eley, Provincial Marshal.

After the Preceptory was opened two members of the Provincial Prior’s Bodyguard entered and advised the Eminent Preceptor, E.Kt. Brian Pulley, that VE. Knight Chris Cradock, Provincial Chancellor of Surrey, was in the ante-room and requested admission to the Preceptory. The Provincial Chancellor of Surrey entered and was greeted by the Eminent Preceptor. The Provincial Chancellor was saluted with 5 after which he greeted everyone and took the muster roll and the minutes.

After the collection of Alms the Provincial Chancellor and Provincial Officers of the year retired in procession from the Preceptory.

An Executive visit to Croydon Preceptory

A Priory of Knights of Malta was then opened by the Eminent Prior, E.Kt. Brian Pulley. A vote was taken for Knights Lee Bowdery and Mark Carter of Croydon Preceptory No. 198 to be installed as Knights of Malta, which proved favourable. The Eminent Prior invited E.Kt. Garth Blanchard to conduct the Ceremony.

The Degree of Knight of St. Paul was conferred on the candidates and Knights Lee Bowdery and Mark Carter were admitted into the Chapter House, passed the Banners and obligated. The Eminent Prior then made Knights Lee Bowdery and Mark Carter Knights of the Ancient and Masonic Order of St John of Jerusalem, Palestine, Rhodes and Malta and entrusted them with the Grand Word and Sign of the Order. Knights Lee Bowdery and Mark Carter were congratulated by the Provincial Chancellor and took their seats in the Priory.

An Executive visit to Croydon Preceptory

After the Priory was closed and the customary photograph taken the Knights of Croydon Preceptory and their guests dined together in fraternal union at the Croydon Masonic Hall.
